Deal struck with Premier Inn to provide 630 rooms

Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick airports are the three sites selected, subject to planning permissions, for four new hotels within the Premier Inn group. Premier Inn, owned by Whitbread, have signed a deal worth £125 million with Hotelier Surinder Arora whose family owns the land through the Arora Family Trust, which they will lease.

The hotels will be open by 2011 in time for the expected rise in visitor numbers during the Olympics. The accommodation numbers will top 1,500 and the hotels will be built in phases, securing thousands of new jobs.

The hotels will be situated at HeathrowTerminal 4 where there will be 240rooms available, Terminal 5 will have a total of 400 rooms, Stansted will have 300 bedrooms and Gatwick’s hotel will have 630 bedrooms.
